
2023 Tappin Roots Internship

The Tappin Roots partners work to connect young Black Oregonians closer to nature and their cultural history. Each Intern is eligible to receive up to $4000 based on their participation in the following:
Orientation
Mandatory Orientation
Monthly Symposiums
Time Working with Partner Orgs
After orientation, Interns will participate in monthly career and environmental justice symposiums led by professionals of color. Learning opportunities will include Indigenous based Traditional Ecological Knowledge and Oregon's Black history.
Interns will have a chance to apply the culturally relevant skills and knowledge acquired to educate others about the natural world. Interns will participate in summer nature-based education work with one of the community based partners, including a week of mandatory training.
