Stay tuned for details on the ‘23 Tappin Roots Black Nature Educators Program

Tappin Roots Black Nature Educators is an environmental internship program for Black-identified high school students in Jefferson County, SE Texas. TR Interns will participate in a monthly career and environmental justice symposium led by professionals of color. Learning opportunities will include Indigenous traditional & ecological knowledge of Texas’ Black History.

Orientation for Tappin Roots begins in November 2023. The Tappin Roots Black Nature Educators program runs from November to July.

Upon completion, interns will receive a stipend up to $4000. This opportunity is open to grades 10 - 12.
