2016
Co-Founders launched the 1st science summer camp program training two camp guides to serve 16 K - 2nd graders.
2017
Achieved the first multi-year partnership with Metro Parks & Nature to support access to environmental science education.
2018
Created the Partnership Assessment tool for evaluating Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and cultural responsiveness for science and environmental institutions, leading to the launch of our national Consulting Service advancing justice in the green sector.
2019
Developed a Mutual Aid Fund and propelled 560 STEAM Take Home Kits into the hands of youth to support Black and Brown families during COVID.
2020
Built a five-year strategic plan for system level impact focused on 5 areas: Financial Wellness, Organization Culture, Youth Empowerment, Thriving Communities, and National Reach.
2021
Secured the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services Cooperative Agreement and achieved 501c3, officially becoming an independent nonprofit.
2022
Launched the Youth Design Forum, Portland's 1st paid career exploration and ‘Equity in Design’ youth education event. Awarded $1.7M through the Portland Clean Energy Fund to pilot an outdoor learning environment and culturally relevant climate education program at a Title 9 K - 5 school.
2023
Annually serves 700 youth, families, 30+ community partners through 11 programs and events. 95% Black and Brown youth participants, 87% qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch, 20% of whom are bi- or multi-lingual.
